If you want an action-RPG that treats harem-building and running a brothel as core progression systems rather than end-of-route rewards, this is squarely aimed at you. IrisField casts you as a rookie knight handed the keys to a failing kingdom, and it leans hard into breadth: twenty romanceable women, an openly polygamous structure, and a prostitution business you manage on the side. It’s a vanilla-leaning, good-natured fantasy for players who like their smut spread wide across a big cast.
What works

The core loop has a clear identity. You play a trainee knight of Avon, a small nation in decline, and the princess hands you carte blanche to turn things around — which in practice means leading troops into other regions to haul back money and manpower. The combat is an action RPG with light simulation and strategy layered on top: you arrange your equipment and your troops, then push into progressively tougher stages. Crucially, there’s no perma-death and no penalty for losing a fight, so the game is built for people who want to keep swinging at hard content without dread. If you tend to bounce off punishing eroge that gate their scenes behind mechanical skill, that design choice is a genuine kindness.
The erotic content is where the game spends its ambition. Twenty heroines is a large roster by doujin standards, and every one of them can be taken as a lover or a bride, with two-timing and full polygamy explicitly on the table. You’re not forced to pick a lane, either: each girl can be steered toward pure-love romance or toward prostitution, and the game supports both. On top of the harem side, there’s a dedicated sex-work system — with the princess’s blessing and, the game is careful to stress, no coercion involved — where you take on two kinds of clientele. Beginners are timid and lean into a teaching, first-time dynamic; aficionados are experienced and ask for rougher, more extreme play. That split gives the prostitution loop more range than a single tone would, and it dovetails with the soapland and group-sex content for players who want it.

There’s also quality-of-life for the impatient. A popularity-boosting option you can toggle from the menu at the start speeds up how quickly the women warm to you, so if you’re here for the scenes and not the courtship grind, the game lets you skip ahead. Add the voice acting and soundtrack the release lists, and there’s a bit more going on presentation-wise than a plain still-image gallery.
What doesn’t

Breadth comes at the cost of depth. Twenty heroines each ship with six base sex CGs — do the math and the total is large, but per character that’s a fairly thin set, and it means most of the cast gets a modest amount of unique content before you’re leaning on variations and system text. If you tend to fixate on one girl and want her lavishly illustrated, a roster this wide will feel spread out rather than deep. This is a game that rewards collectors more than devotees.
The mechanical side is honest about being lightweight, and that’s a double edge. “Simplified simulation” plus a combat model with no failure penalty means the strategy layer is unlikely to satisfy anyone hoping for real tactical bite — the fighting mostly exists to gate and fund the erotic content, not to stand on its own. And for an English-speaking audience specifically, note that this is a Japanese-language release with no English version indicated; the menu-heavy systems, the prostitution management, and the dialogue all assume you can read Japanese, which is a bigger barrier here than in a scene-only nukige.
Who should buy this

Buy this if you like eroge where the meta-game — building a harem, running the brothel, restoring a nation — is the actual point, and you want a large cast with both wholesome and mercenary routes available at the same time. Skip it if you want deep, demanding gameplay, if you need a single heroine drowning in CG, or if you can’t read Japanese and don’t want to play around a language barrier.
Verdict

7 / 10 — a generous, easygoing harem RPG that trades per-girl depth and mechanical challenge for sheer breadth and a genuinely fun brothel-management hook, and mostly wins that trade if breadth is what you’re after.
