Estarla and the Magic Academy (エスターラと魔法学園) — Honest Review

Reviewed work by o_m · View on DLsite

Estarla and the Magic Academy is a dungeon-crawling RPG about a magic-school washout whose problem isn’t too little power but too much — she can’t control it, and after one blow-up too many she’s handed a special assignment: her magic gets sealed, and she has to relearn spellcasting from zero or face expulsion at the year-end exams. Around that setup, circle o_m has stacked a genuinely large corruption sandbox — 95+ H scenes, five endings, and a fetish list that leans hard into defeat, coercion, and prostitution — aimed squarely at players who want a female-protagonist RPG where the heroine’s descent is the content, not a side dish.

What works

The sheer volume and the systems around it are the headline. Ninety-five-plus H scenes, 59 base CG plus variants (not counting standing-sprite H), and five endings — two of which are H-free — is a serious amount of content for a doujin RPG, and the two clean endings quietly signal that the game tracks how far you let things go rather than railroading you. That’s backed up by the stat layer: a lewdness gauge, an exhibitionism element, and a dedicated ero-status screen, which is exactly the scaffolding you want in a corruption RPG. Crucially, a virgin clear is confirmed possible, so the degradation is opt-in — you’re steering Stella’s fall, not just watching it. Quality-of-life is also covered properly: a fully unlockable recollection room, event skip, and an easy mode that lightens combat for players who are here for the scenes rather than the dungeon grind.

The H content itself is unusually well spread across the game’s two halves. Dungeons deliver the classic loop — combat defeat scenes and traps against tentacles, slimes, orcs, goblins, and human enemies — while the town side opens up event exploration, prostitution, and sexual-harassment scenarios. The fetish spread is broad but coherent: heavy on non-consensual and coerced situations, plus exhibitionism, pregnancy and pregnant-belly content, double penetration, and gangbang scenes. If that cluster is your lane, the game isn’t dabbling in it; it’s built around it.

Full voice acting for the three named characters is the other real selling point. Stella the protagonist, Regina the teacher, and Mina the friend each have a credited voice actress, and H scenes come with voiced moaning. Voiced protagonists are still far from guaranteed in doujin RPGs at this scale, and it goes a long way toward making a 95-scene game feel less copy-pasted.

What doesn’t

Estarla and the Magic Academy — drawback example scene

Do the math on 95+ scenes against 59 base CG and you can see the trade-off: a meaningful chunk of those scenes will be riding on CG variants, standing-sprite H, and text rather than fully unique artwork. That’s normal for quantity-focused doujin RPGs, but if you’re expecting 95 distinct illustrated setpieces, recalibrate. It’s also an RPG Maker MZ game, with the circle itself urging buyers to run the trial version first and warning that content may be patched or swapped in updates — standard boilerplate, but it does mean you should treat the demo as mandatory rather than optional, especially on non-Japanese systems where RPG Maker titles can be finicky.

The other honest caveat is that the content skews narrow. The scene list is dominated by violation, coercion, and prostitution, and the pregnancy/gangbang/double-penetration cluster is baked in rather than avoidable flavor. Players who want a consensual or romance-leaning female-protagonist RPG are simply not the audience here, and the vanilla-friendly material looks thin on the ground.

Who should buy this

Estarla and the Magic Academy — target audience scene

First, the hard gate: this is a Japanese-only release with no official English support, and as an RPG it carries a fair amount of quest text, town events, and stat menus. That said, the genre travels better than most — dungeon crawling, defeat H, and a recollection room are largely self-explanatory, and a machine-translation overlay or texthooker will get you through the assignments and town events well enough. If you read zero Japanese and refuse to use MTL, you’ll still get the CG, voice work, and combat loop, but you’ll miss the story of Stella’s relearning arc and fumble some event triggers. Beyond the language question, this is for corruption-RPG fans who want a voiced female protagonist, meaningful lewdness/exhibitionism stats, and a heavy non-con/prostitution scene list — with the freedom to instead play her straight through to a clean ending.

Verdict

Estarla and the Magic Academy — final verdict visual

7 / 10. On paper this is a well-built entry in the female-protagonist corruption-RPG mold — big scene count, real stat systems, full voice for the main cast, and player agency from virgin run to full descent — held back only by the CG-to-scene ratio, the narrow fetish focus, and the Japanese-only text; grab the trial first and you’ll know within an hour if it’s for you.
