Anyone who already sank hours into the original castaway-cat-people island sim and wished there were more people to meet (and more ways for things to go wrong for them) is exactly who this DLC is built for. It bolts a new rescue-signal story arc, seven characters, and a pile of scene variety onto the base game, and it’s aimed squarely at returning players rather than newcomers — you cannot run this without owning the original and patching it to the required version first.
What works

The new episode gives the expansion an actual reason to exist instead of just being a costume pack: while the Nekotto are still scavenging ship parts on their stranded island, a fresh distress signal goes out, a military rescue vessel answers it, and the soldiers who land to help end up captured by the island’s native population instead. It’s a small but functional twist — the rescuers becoming the rescued — and it slots into existing playthroughs, since save data from partway through the main story can still trigger the new content once conditions are met.
The character count is the headline number here: seven new arrivals (Chocolat, Falria, Horaize, Nix, Nouvelle, Boushin, and KU), each with five swappable outfits — swimsuit, a cat-motif combat suit, a fox-motif combat suit, crew uniform, and ragged native wear — all changeable on the fly from the player’s terminal, so clothed and semi-clothed scenes aren’t a one-time unlock but something you can revisit. There’s a nice bit of texture in how the game handles defection, too: female Nekotto who switch sides gradually pick up sunburn, tattoos, ear piercings, and the ragged clothing style of the natives, visually tracking their assimilation instead of just flipping a flag.

On the content-variety side, the DLC adds scenes the base game didn’t have — two three-person combinations each for MFM and MFF groupings, plus two pillar-bondage positions — and backs it with new progression systems: nine equipment-upgrade items for the player, allies, and the rover, plus two building-type items, all scattered around the map so exploring the island again has a point. Two new native NPC types (an aggressive male and a hypnotist-type female) and a bad ending round out the additions. Given the tag mix — beastkin, sci-fi setting, and both the sweet, doting relationship track and the netorare/netori track running in parallel — the DLC is clearly trying to serve both the “grow closer to your crew” crowd and the “watch it fall apart” crowd from the same content pool, which is a reasonable way to extend a game that already supported both moods.
What doesn’t

The most consistent complaint floating around is bugs — nothing catastrophic reported, but enough rough edges that cautious buyers may want to wait for a patch or two before diving in blind. There’s also a fair point raised about the new position/scene variety: with only two pillar-bondage positions and a couple of group-scene variants each, it’s an addition rather than an overhaul, so anyone expecting the DLC to dramatically expand the base game’s animation range should temper expectations accordingly. And structurally, this is a DLC in the strictest sense — it does nothing on its own, requires updating the base game to a specific version first, and offers no standalone value, which is a real friction point if you haven’t kept the main game current.
Who should buy this

This is for people who already own and enjoyed the base island-survival-meets-catgirl-romance game and want more reasons to go back in — more faces, more outfits, more of the branching sweet/netorare dynamic, plus some light progression systems to chase while exploring. It’s not a jumping-on point for newcomers, and the reported bugs mean this isn’t necessarily a day-one purchase for the risk-averse. The listing supports English text, so non-Japanese players don’t need to rely on machine translation or guesswork to follow the new rescue-signal storyline and character interactions — that alone makes this a much easier recommendation for the wider international doujin-game audience than a Japanese-only release would be.
Verdict

7/10 — a solid, well-targeted expansion that meaningfully grows the character roster and scene variety for an existing fanbase, held back a notch by reported bugs and a scene-variety bump that’s more incremental than transformative.
