Imperial Knights DLC — Honest Review

Imperial Knights DLC — Honest Review

Reviewed work by poison · View on DLsite

Imperial Knights DLC is exactly what the name promises and not one thing more: a content pack that bolts three new guild quests, twelve defeat-scene CGs and sixteen new erotic-attack CGs onto poison’s battle-fuck RPG Imperial Knights. It is aimed squarely at people who already own the base game and have cleared it at least once — it will not run on its own, and every piece of new content is gated behind specific route clears and a second playthrough. If you enjoyed the original’s blend of combat-sex, tentacles, interspecies encounters and coercive humiliation and simply wanted more of it, this is built for you; if you have never touched the base game, start there.

What works

The pack is structured as a reward for players who keep going after the credits. Each of the three new guild quests — a monster fighting tournament, a forest investigation, and a request to rescue someone’s son — comes with four defeat-scene CGs, for twelve in total. That “defeat scene” framing is the point: this is a game where losing is the content, and the DLC leans into that rather than padding things out with consensual side stories. The genre tags tell you what to expect from those losses — interspecies partners, tentacles, being passed around by a group, forced and ordered situations, and a general streak of cruelty toward the heroines. Nothing here softens the base game’s tone.

The part most likely to matter for battle-fuck fans is the sixteen new erotic-attack CGs. They are distributed as two per character, which works out to eight characters getting fresh mid-combat material rather than one heroine hogging everything. Erotic attacks are where this sub-genre lives — the slow grind of being worn down during fights instead of a single scene after a loss — so doubling up on those across the whole cast is a smarter use of a DLC budget than, say, one more long event scene would have been. Anyone who found the original’s combat content ran thin on repeat playthroughs gets a concrete reason to go back.

Context counts for something too. poison is a long-running circle with a track record in this specific niche — Chris Survival and the Slave’s Sword games among others — and the base Imperial Knights has been received very well by its audience, pulling in well over twenty thousand downloads with a near-perfect rating. The DLC landed as a Summer Comiket 2026 release and had several hundred pre-orders lined up before it went live, which is a fair signal that the people who played the original wanted more. A voice tag is attached to the listing, consistent with the base game being voiced, though the description does not spell out whether new lines were recorded for the added scenes.

What doesn’t

The unlock requirements are the real friction. The tournament quest only appears after you have cleared Route 1 (the route where you raise the guild membership fee yourself) and then completed the existing “Fighting Tournament” guild quest on a new-game-plus run. The forest investigation and the rescue quest both require a Route 3 clear (escaping the bandit hideout) followed by completing the “Ghost Incident on the Back Mountain” and “Rescue of the Sleeping Prince” quests respectively, again on a subsequent playthrough. If you only finished one route, or your save files are gone, you are replaying a meaningful chunk of the base game before any paid content shows up. That is a lot of hoops for an add-on, and the description is upfront about it, so nobody should be surprised — but plenty of people will be annoyed.

Installation is also old-school: you overwrite files in the base game’s data folder by hand, following instructions in an enclosed Japanese text file. There is no installer and no patcher. Back up your game directory first, because a mistake here means reinstalling. On the content side, twenty-eight CGs total is a reasonable DLC haul but not a large one, and the description promises no new route, no story continuation and no new systems — just quests and pictures. The price was not listed at the time of writing, and value here depends heavily on what poison is asking for it.

Who should buy this

Imperial Knights DLC — target audience scene

This is a Japanese-only release with no official English, and the base game is Japanese-only too. The good news is that the content you are paying for is visual: defeat scenes and erotic-attack CGs land whether or not you can read the dialogue, and RPG combat is navigable by anyone who has played a few of these. The bad news is that the unlock conditions depend on knowing which route you cleared and which existing guild quest is which, and the install instructions are in Japanese. A texthooker with machine translation, or at minimum the patience to match quest names against a translated copy of the description, is strongly advised. If you own Imperial Knights, have cleared Routes 1 and 3, and liked it enough to go around again, buy this. If you are new, get the base game first and see whether its particular flavor of combat-sex and humiliation is for you before spending more.

Verdict

Imperial Knights DLC — final verdict visual

7 / 10 — a focused, no-frills pack of more of exactly what Imperial Knights players asked for, held back by heavy route-and-NG+ unlock requirements, a manual install, and a price tag that was still unknown at the time of writing.
